This is wonderful news! No-one should be allowed to glorify the violent and unjustified deaths of animals.

Fans, The National Geographic Channel has carefully considered the public discussion of our series on surviving the wilds of Alaska currently in production and premiering sometime next year. Upon further reflection we plan to eliminate one of the survivalists from the ensemble cast, Melissa Bachman. Hunting is not the focus of the show, and we regret the misinformation that has clouded what we hope will be an exciting adventure series set in the incredible Alaskan landscape.

  1. That’s good news. Seems hardly in the spirit that Nat Geo has come to be known for. Trophy hunting is a disgrace that has nothing to do with “surviving in the wilds.”

    • In a way, this has had a good effect, Natalie. I had never heard of this ghastly woman before, but she seems fairly high profile. Now, not only has she received a lot of adverse attention, but so has this type of hunting in general – and it’s caused a louder outcry than ever. Unwittingly, she has highlighted this unacceptable lifestyle across the world. 🙂
