  1. Krill is the main food source of the Ballena Franca Austral of Argentina (whose territory includes the Antarctic Peninsula). I quote from the article referenced: “Once again, national interests and politics are a hurdle to the international interest of protecting the environment”.

    Far-away countries, such as Russia, harvest and deplete these seas, polluting and killing other species with fishing practices. Once it used to be the voice of the southern hemisphere countries near Antartctica the one that determined these matters. So sad that the world’s largest marine reserve could not see the light.
